I installed kdebase to use KDM as a login manager for Fluxbox, and I added it to my daemons in rc.conf. It worked fine the first time around, in 800x600 resolution, but then I remembered that I hadn't configured Xorg yet. So I did Xorg -configure, put in my section for the touchpad, and renamed it as xorg.conf in /etc/X11. However, now whenever I boot into Arch, when it says "Starting Kde Desktop Manager" (or something similar), it just goes to the console login.
How can I make Kdm start?

grep "^(EE)" /var/log/Xorg.0.log
Anything there?

If from the console environment try to execute startx, what is the output?

Can you post the output from
grep -v "^#" /etc/X11/xorg.conf
(saves posting all the comment lines)

Eh, I found out what I did wrong. Apparently it didn't recognize one of the options I added under my keyboard, "XkbLayout" "uk", which I actually took from my Ubuntu xorg.conf. It also didn't recognize any screens, since Xorg -configure didn't quite put a full section on it. So I just used my xorg.conf.hwd instead.
Heh, sorry about this.

Because you are using fluxbox i believe that you want a light system. So i suggest you to install SLIM http://slim.berlios.de/ . This is simple and it's complete.

I actually removed KDE and installed SLiM instead, after realizing that it didn't just install a 'login screen', but a whole DE. But thanks anyways melofabiano . Now, if I could just figure out which wireless program is the easiest to setup....
