[SOLVED] Green screen when playing video

Hi, ever since I have reinstalled Arch, I'm having issues playing videos in any format. I get a dull green screen, and I can only hear the audio. This happens with VLC, Totem and Mplayer (the ones I have tried so far).

I have already tried to reinstall libxv (as indicated in this thread), but that doesn't change the situation.
Do you have any suggestion?

Thanks for your time smile

Re: [SOLVED] Green screen when playing video

Any error messages if you try to start mplayer/vlc from the command line?

No, no errors, just normal messages, like this, for example:

VLC media player 0.8.6d Janus
mdb:1, lastbuf:0 skipping granule 0

Re: [SOLVED] Green screen when playing video

Thanks for the tip, but the only thing that changed is that the screen is now blue tongue
Obviously this makes me think that the problem is related to Xorg, more than to the codecs...

Re: [SOLVED] Green screen when playing video

For me it worked by changing the color depth from 16 to 24...
May be worth a try wink
