Hi,
I installed arch on a powerpc G4 and I did an abs cvs sync, but when I tried to makepkg I realised that no PKGBUILDS at all include the ppc keyword.
So how do they build ppc packages ?:|
is there another cvs mirror for ppc ?
bye.:D

PPC is not in the PKGBUILDs as it is not an officially supported platform. I don't know if there is another ppc cvs mirror.

well it wouldn't cost anything to add ppc as arch, since you won't compile for ppc if you ar on x86

People aren't supposed to add to the 'arch' line until they know it build properly on that architecture. I have to add x86_64 to PKGBUILDs a lot of the time. When you have a successful build on PPC, add a comment to the AUR listing that it words so that the owner can update it.

package that builds on ppc are already listed here http://www.archlinuxppc.org/packages/search/
I tried cvs.archlinuxppc.org for abs but the connection is refused.

We actually never supported abs. To retrieve the current cvs trees do:
export CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous:anonymous@cvs.archlinuxppc.org:/home/cvs-core
cvs co core
same for extra, just replace core ![]()

I believe this broke after the server upgrade since I get no such repository.

Yeah we missed that. The pserver should work by now.
