setting the hardware clock, and system clock

OK, I noticed that the clock was off on my machine.....

system clock
[ryan@Archbox ~]$ date
Mon Dec 31 19:35:43 PST 2007

Hardware clock
[root@Archbox ryan]# hwclock
Mon 31 Dec 2007 07:38:21 PM PST  -0.000353 seconds

the date and time is correct, local time in Halifax Canada that is,

problem is I am not pacific standard time but Atlantic standard time.....

any emails, or programs which need times to match fail on that check

Just read:
man hwclock
I think there you will find solution.
I do not care much about it so I do not know myself.
