Another issue with Suspend to RAM

Hi all

sorry for bugging you all lately but I am setting up my laptop and I find Arch very nice

I am running a Dell Latitude d830 on Arch 64
I would like to associate the closing of the lid with the suspend to RAM
In KDE there is a panel in the Control Center called Power Control. One of the tabs is called ACPI config and in there there are the options for enabling standby
The problem is that the checkboxes are greyed out. It says that if they are greyed out there is no helper application set up to change the acpi state.

Can anybody help me through this?

Cheers

Did you not read below? It is perfectly fine, you have to either click the button there and provide your root password or make /proc/acpi/sleep writable at boot smile Works like a charm for me.

I need real, proper pen and paper for this.
