I would like buy this notebook for installing kde4 with 3D acceleration.

Yes.

But I have no clue which components it includes, so there's a good chance one part or another might be troublesome.

Perhaps the Ubuntu forum guys come up with something more informative. :]

I checked for the config, and I think you should be fine. Not sure if the wireless-N will be well supported though, so you might want to check if linux has native support, or if other users have luck with ndiswrapper/madwifi/whatever.
