KDE apps don't start when I connect to wireless LAN when doing dhcpcd

Environment: I'm using E17.

Hello, I have a problem with amarok and k3b. When I am not connected to wireless LAN, that programs works well, but when I am doing this to connect to wireless LAN:

ifconfig eth1 up
iwconfig eth1 essid XXX
dhcpcd eth1

Amarok and K3b are unable to start, they cannot be initialized.

What's the problem and what can I do to solve this? With gnome-network-manager there weren't any problems, but I am using enlightenment, not gnome, cause with gnome I had the same problem in the past, cause I want to skip the GUI's as much as possible.

Greetings

I have a similar problem here, it started just today, and that makes me think it has something to do with networking, because today I've installed WICD.

Kopete, Korganizer, Gwenview, Kwrite and others simply won't start!!!

or if they do it, it happens a couple of minutes later

I'm also wondering what could be, I hope someone can help us!!!

yeah!!!

I thought it was enough to have the lo interface listed in etc/rc.conf

but when I do

ifconfig lo up

everything was running normally again!

thanks!!

Strange... doing the ifconfig lo up, all works normally after connecting to network.

But all of these, why? Is lo disconfigured after conecting a network?

I am having the exact same problem on my computers. My problem does not seem related to my loopback, as I do not have a wireless interface and my LO-interface is up. After a bit of working with the system (opening and closing various applications, editting files, browsing the internet, working with konqueror as file manager etc) the applications won't start anymore. When I click on something, it takes minutes for the applicaton to appear. This is not with all applications, but it is with kopete, gwenview, kate, amarok, kaffeine, kplayer and kmail.
