New year, new screenshot..  and the perhaps best wm ever out-of-box. It could have a little more settings, but mostly it has everything and nice keybindings with a plain install.. no other wm has this. smile

Ankka,

I see you are using the new Mac OS X Time Machine wallpaper. Very slick.

What is that in the lower right corner?

Re: January 2008 Screenshots

I too have a question for Ankka: how do you layout your pidgin tabs this way?

By the way, it's great to see an evilwm screenshot once in a while! smile

if i understand you correctly, to place the tabs vertically on the side of the conversation window, go to tools - > preferences - > on the first window, near the bottom you see a drop down under the "Tabs" section. here select "Left Vertical"

archlinux - please read this and this — twice — then ask questions.

I really must get round to posting my own desktop here. Not that there's much to see.

From visiting the evilwm website I would think not.

Excactly. I do think they're the most usable when horizontally at the bottom or top of the window, but I was really bored and had to test something new.

Indeed, evilwm doesn't come with all those big bloated features like panels or system trays. wink It's just trayer with a transparent background. I need it for network-manager, and then there's always the couple of apps that use it by default so they show in the tray as well, I'd like them not to but I'm too lazy to edit all the  preferences. smile

Re: January 2008 Screenshots

thumb-screeny.png

No "messy" screenshot as most applications have own workspaces reserved for them, and only open in them (<3 ob per-appliaction settings).
Hasn't changed for long time, only bg and next image update automatically changing the colorschemes of top "bar" (which is just area set in the script and ob is told not to let windows into that area big_smile).
Only messy things are wmapps that autohide.

Nice! smile Did you manages to get the webcam working? (I still struggle to get  mine to work tongue ).

Also, why are you using 2.6.22 kernel? Is it offers a better support?

I actually have the 4G Surf - so no webcam, I would have never used it.

Haven't had a chance to upgrade to 2.6.23
