problem with firefox hanging

hey there, little problem here.
i use firefox. and lately, whenever i am at a site that requires some input, firefox completely hangs. like the search box at Google.com or even this forum ( i write this from debian )

so if anyone has any info.... please send it on. thanks.

you're talking about 0.8?
anyways.. you can get the 0.9 installer.

if you want to stay with 0.8 then just disable as many extensions as you can. [this must be it!]

Is your loopback network device set up right?

ifconfig | grep lo

what do you see?

ok, that was the problem

i had a ! in front of the lo device in rc.conf

guess i did that durring installation.

i am posting this from firefox right now. thanks a lot.

incidently, is firefox .9 cooler than .8 ?
