firefox 3 won't start. [SOLVED]

Both the nightly build and beta 2 won't run.

./firefox-bin
./firefox-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libxul.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Can anyone help?

libxul.so is provided in the directory of the nightly

Firefox comes usually with a loader shellscript called "firefox" - you should launch this one instead of the firefox-bin directly.

I thought firefox was in /opt/ ?

try running /opt/mozilla/bin/firefox
and then run just firefox later.

Firefox comes usually with a loader shellscript called "firefox" - you should launch this one instead of the firefox-bin directly.

Thanks for your help that worked perfectly.

I thought firefox was in /opt/ ?

I'm using a downloaded tarball so all the files are in one folder out of my home directory.
