BIOS clock slow

Hi guys,

I'm not sure when, but recently I noticed that on my MacBook the BIOS clock runs slow, about 1 hour per day.

I would post the out put of something like lspci but I'm not sure which one...

Thanks!

Re: BIOS clock slow

Most of the system clocks I've come across have been unable to maintain time decently. Still I think 1 hour/day is the worst I've ever heard of. There are programs that compensate for lag, but better yet is to periodically sync to an ntp server. The package "openntpd" is in community, install and add it to your rc.conf. On a side note I think that kind of lag justifies a warranty repair.

Re: BIOS clock slow

I'm not sure if this can cause it, but I've heard of cases in which the battery on the motherboard was empty that certain bios-settings were not saved upon shutting down. Maybe you should check the battery's condition?

Zl.
