Hi,
I am desperately trying to install Acrobat Reader. I checked the extra repository and its available there as a package known as "acroread".
I tried to install this using pacman but it keeps telling me that "acroread" is not found or not available. This is a little wierd since it obviously is (or should be) in the repository. And my settings should be all ok since I installed Open Office, digiKam and Gimp.
Any ideas about what I am doing wrong?

try 'pacman -Sy acroread'
it could just be trying to fetch an old version that has been updated, but you haven't resynced yet.

Have you tried changing to a different mirror (files in /etc/pacman.d/)?

Are you by any chance running Arch 64-bit? The acroread package is only available for i686 (blame Adobe I guess). You can use xpdf or epdfview instead, or any other PDF reader.

Hi Vex,
I am indeed. However I heard that it would be possible to run Acrobat if I have the 32-bit libraries installed. I think I managed to install all the 32-bit libraries so how do I force pacman to find it/install it?
