That's what I got today when I logged in
"su" doesn't work at all only way to get root access is by doing "sudo -s"
I tried changing the password, checked /etc/group, /etc/passwd, /etc/gshadow and everything related to it and everything seems to be ok but "su" still doesn't work, all I get is:
[vmrh@chilean ~]$ su
Password: **so I put my password here**
: No such file or directory
and no root access.
Any ideas?, I'm out of them, please help

Try reinstalling coreutils (sudo pacman -S coreutils), see if it fixes your problem.

If it's not a PATH problem:
[root@atena freakcode]# which su
/bin/su
Then do what dir said, reinstall coreutils.
