Just did a fresh and nice install! Which Drivers for ATI Mob X1400?

Just like the title says, i messed up my old install and finally got around to making a new one, nice and clean.

My Rig:

Lenovo T60
C2D 2.0GHZ
ATI X1400
2gb DDR2
15.4" 1680x1050

I have heard that there has been conflicts with the new ati driver (7.12) and it will not support my resolution, but i want to have 3d rendering, so im stuck.

What driver should I use?

I just installed 7.11 and its working fine with my resolution, only thing is i cant get compiz to work due to some glx error, i troubleshooted it by removing flgrx, insalling default libgl.so , backing it up, and all that shabang, still no go. sad

Suspend hasn't worked for about 4 version of the fglrx driver now... I don't know when it will either, but I'm not holding my breath.

Same happens here, even with 7.12. I tried the libgl.so thing too. Sad thing is it worked nice with previous non-catalyst-rebranded driver (old fglrx) a few months ago.
