If you want a different resolution, tell me.

How big can you go? I'd love a widescreen, anything you can do up to 3520x2400.

3520x2400 >>> What the hell is that for a resolution... don't tell me that's on a single monitor! Dual screen right?

Anyway, I created seven versions from 1280x1024 up to 3520x2400, logo is always the same size.
I love Photoshop and it's 'snap layer to origin' function! ^^

For those who don't want to deal with free rapidshare, I'll mirror smile

Re: January 2008 Screenshots

after seeing a few evilwm screens, i thought i'd give it a try.  i like it so far!  a question for you evilwm users though: can you make it... ignore certain windows?  for example, if i'm running conky i'd like it to be skipped when i'm alt-tabbing through my open windows.

I've seen young people waste their time reading books about sensitive vampires. It's kinda sad. But you say it's not the end of the world... Well, maybe it is!

Yeah, with a dual screen setup that would mean 2400x1760 per screen... never seen such a monitor.

Nice I am in Ottawa at the moment but I move around a lot (Comp. Sci. Co-op student at University of Waterloo). I was living in the GTA and working downtown toronto last summer.

For conky you can add "own_window_type override" to your .conkyrc, that'll do the trick.

For other apps I'm not so sure.

Could you please make a plain old 1024x768 one? Need that for my little nb. smile

And is there a 1600x1200 in the package? Else I would request one in that resolution too... cool

*sniff* i use that script too sad

any work around? I use the same script.

i found a workaround but it involves using "sudo arch_updates.py" or putting sudo inside the script itself.  if you are willing to make that sacrifice, then i can post the fix.  i really do not like this as a fix but the script uses "pacman -Sup" and in previous pacmans this was able to be run as a non root user. in pacman 3.1 this is not allowed for some reason.  im not sure if this has been posted elsewhere on the forums yet or not, but i've just played with it a bit at work and come to this conclusion.

http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/8905 - that's why. i shall wait until this is fixed.

archlinux - please read this and this — twice — then ask questions.

Re: January 2008 Screenshots

Another script:

/etc/cron.hourly/pacsync.sh

#!/bin/bash

# This issues a command to 1. Sync the package database,
# 2. Check for upgradable packages, 3. print the URL of any possible upgrade.
# The output of our command gets written to updates.log, which we will use
# conky_updates.sh to parse to see if there are any available updates.

pacman -Syup --noprogressbar > /var/log/updates.log

and ~/bin/conky_update.pl

#! /usr/bin/perl -w
use strict;
# November 15, 2006
# Daniel Vredenburg (Vredfreak)
# This is a program that checks for package updates for Arch Linux users.

open (MYINPUTFILE, "/var/log/updates.log") or die "No such file or directory: $!";

my $i = 0;
while(<MYINPUTFILE>)
{
        if (/^(.*)\/(.*)(\..*\..*\.)/)  {
                #print " \n";
                $i++;
        }

}
if ($i == 0) {
        print "up to date";
} else {
        print "available ($i)";
}
close(MYINPUTFILE);

Not mine, but it works perfectly (since cron.hourly, and thus your sync operation, is run as root anyway).

Hey, maybe if I knew Haskell I could make fun of it, but I find 16 lines of code seems like a pretty good solution to me (although I haven't tried the problem... maybe I could make a terser solution in, say, perl or python... we'll see (: ) Anyway, good luck in learning Haskell! It looks fun.

Re: January 2008 Screenshots

That's my emerald theme. It used to be thinner but I guess the application switcher uses the font in the window title and for some reason, I like to see that instead of a black line.
