Re: Opera doesn't start

It's normal that opera closes when you close the xterm, as it terminates any processes started in it when you close it, including opera

Re: Opera doesn't start

Solution:
1)include non-free packages
2)install sun-java5-jre (this really should have been all that was required but no... one more step...)
3)edit opera preferences:
tools, preferences, advanced tab, content section, Java Options button, add the path /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0.10/jre/lib/i386/ and validate with the validate button.
4)restart opera the error messages should be gone.

Re: Opera doesn't start

just had the same problem. with "Opera 9.50 Beta 2"

/usr/lib/opera/9.50-20080103.5/opera: error while loading shared libraries: libqt-mt.so.3

tried this http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=37320

and things now seem to be OK. I had just done a big upgrade with "testing" enabled and had also been having the QT3,QT4 related messages descussed elswehere.
