I figured this problem was different enough, even if related, to start a new thread.
After finally getting sound working I had noticed just last night that I only get sound through my rear speakers. This is really killing me since everything worked like a charm before and then just BAM! problems galore. I have tried fiddling with every channel available too me through alsamixer; turning them all off then one by one turning them back on to see how it affects sound. I discovered that my Center and LFE channels don't really do anything as I had previously thought so now, the only channels that affect sound at all are Surround and PCM (turning on mic boost makes everything hiss from my rear speakers but I don't need that on anyways so not really a problem).
I'm at a loss as to why this would be happening, anyone have a clue?
