update - error

I ran pacman -Syu and:

:: Starting full system upgrade...
warning: python-sqlobject: local (0.9.0-1) is newer than testing (0.8.1-1)
warning: tor: local (0.1.2.14-1) is newer than extra (0.1.1.26-1)
resolving dependencies... done.
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: spamassassin requires perl-libwww

After that I did try:

pacman -S perl-libwww
resolving dependencies... done.
looking for inter-conflicts...
:: perl-libwww conflicts with perl-lwp. Remove perl-lwp? [Y/n] y
done.
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: perl-lwp requires spamassassin

Which one require which one, please?

Re: update - error

I removed spamassassin and update works but now I cannot reinstall spamassassin again because each other need each other smile

Re: update - error

I have the same problem!

gcstar uses this two conflicting packets...

I have created a thread for it too http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=257234 (we have posted it nearly at the same time...)

Re: update - error

Should be OK now. I removed perl-lwp from community repo.

Re: update - error

Use perl-libwww  from the extra repo. BTW, gcstar depends on perl-libwww. The perl-lwp package was just a duplicate of perl-libwww with a different package name.

Re: update - error

I know this thread is a bit old but...

If perl-libwww solves gcstar problems then why am I getting this error when I try and run it?

/usr/bin/perl: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/current/i686-linux-thread-multi/auto/Glib/Glib.so: undefined symbol: Perl_Tstack_sp_ptr

Re: update - error

You are using the testing repo but the glib-perl packages has not been updated yet to the new perl packaging policy. It'll probably be updated some time this week.

Re: update - error

Thanks, I was thinking I'd probably have to recompile several things from source.  I'll just wait awhile to try again.

Re: update - error

FYI: Updated versions of glib-perl  and other perl packages are now available in testing repo (x86_64 packages will be there later).
