I was wondering if there was an article for what I did recently. I basically downloaded the Core CD and download all repositories and put them on to DVDs. I figured out how to use them and upload them to the hard drive as if they are a repository using three different articles. I know there is Custom Repository, Offline installation of packages, and CD-ROM repositories, but I haven't found one for using hard drive as repositories. I actually used a combination of techniques. Has this been done? Also, how interested would people be in this knowledge? Any thoughts and let me know.

pacman has evolved lately and man repo-add is sufficient imo
There shouldn't be any reason to learn more editor types than emacs or vi -- mg (1)

Hang around Arch long enough and you will find that the best policy is "do first, then ask", not the reverse, as you have chosen.
In other words, write it up, submit it, and post a link in the forum if you want feedback.

Please, please, PLEASE put this in bold, italics, and underlined on the top of the forum webpage or somewhere similar (#archlinux topic, perhaps?)

It is a good phrase, I added it to 'the arch way' wiki article: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/The … er-centric
