I don't know, but does this message "gzip: stdout: No space left on device" doesn't says it all? Or have you enough free space on your harddrive?

# free /dev/sda

This shows free memory/swap and nothing about sda. df would be more useful.

Re: [solved] update kernel26-2.6.23.14-1

df -h

gives a nice, "human readable" report.

Re: [solved] update kernel26-2.6.23.14-1

[jada@arch-01 ~]$ df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda3 34G 8.9G 24G 28% /
none 1013M 0 1013M 0% /dev/shm
/dev/sda1 38M 9.4M 27M 26% /boot
/dev/sda4 37G 440M 35G 2% /home
[jada@arch-01 ~]$

looks like there is enough space free.

Re: [solved] update kernel26-2.6.23.14-1

You said above that it worked once you removed xen. Does the xen package install files in /boot? If yes, that's probably why you ran out of space.
