How to install Engage (standalone) aka CVS instructions

Well, the titles says it all.
I googled a bit and saw people doing a pacman -S engage, but this doesn't work for me as I get a "not found in sync db" error.:/
..So i looked further  and saw that engage was only available in CVS.
I've never worked with CVS, so would somebody be so kind to give me quick instructions on how to set up all this so I can download from CVS, and maybe later contribute (though I'm 'just' a java programmer roll).

Grtz Daan.
