okay i am following the guide http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners_Guide and i am having problems getting rankmirrors script working,
I am using teh command rankmirrors -v /etc/pacman.d/core
which displays the out put of -bash: /usr/bin/rankmirrors: /usr/bin/python: bad interpreter: No such file or directory
is there anyway that i can fix this or is there anyway to fix this.

pacman -Sy python
as root.
After you've installed python, run rankmirrors so that you're not using the (throttled) main server.

No offense, but newbie or not you should be able to figure out how you install/remove software on your system.

well i am not frmilliare with arch and pacman yet i came off of ubuntu then fedora and now arch and arch is probley my number 1 favorite

Since it is a Beginners Guide, I've updated the wiki to show how to install python before running rankmirrors. The bad interpreter error is can be confusing for newer users..
