Anjuta code completion

I am currently working on a C, libxml project.
I was desperately searching for a good IDE, and after lots of search i ended up in Anjuta.
Anjuta is great, but practically lacks one of the most crucial things that i care about: code completion. So, the question is whether code completion works for you, and how did you manage to do it (of course i tried the Settings->Preferences->GTKSourceView Editor->Enable Autocompletion)..

Of course any other IDE alternative proposal is welcomed.
