List updated packages without installing

Is there any way to make pacman/yaourt to only output the new packages found at the repositories? To be used in a statusmail going out automaticly.

Like doing a -Suy without upgrading anything, just showing the result.

Any idea?

-u, --upgrades
           Lists all packages that are out of date on the local system. This option works best if the sync database is refreshed using -Sy.

From the pacman man page, under the "Query options" heading. So, I think it's possible. It would be like:

pacman -Sy && pacman -Qu
