gcc cvs

I'm compiling gcc cvs 20040618 (because gcc 3.4 won't compile vmware any-any-update). Is the long running multistage bootstrap always needed, or can the build process be shortened when starting from gcc 3.4?

i dont know about vmware, but about gcc: the cvs-version is newer, but also more strict respectively same strictness like 3.4, i think
