I'm tring to set up a jack server but I am running into some trouble...
I installed jack-audio-connection-kit, qjackctl, I am able to run the jack server but then all programs lose their sound... so I'm guesing I can't configure it right, but I couldn't find any appropriate information about it on our wiki or the forums...

You need to have applications able to pipe their output to JACK. Unfortunately not all of them can. Once you set them up (some of them need a special set up, like Audacious for example, some don't, like Rosegarden, as far as I remember), you can make the appropriate I/O connections via qjackctl, there is a dialog for that purpose (I think the button is called "Connections" or something of that sort).
