problem with repos?

I have just (network) installed Arch 7.8.2. install went fine.
However, when I ran pacman _Syu I got errors on extra and community repos - file db.gz not available. It did seem to complete the sync on arch and community.
Subsequently, I ran pacman -S xorg. It seemed to generate an error message for every package (not available) but went ahead and installed them anyway!

Before I take this install any further, could someone please advise me if my repos are correct?

Here is an extract from my /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist and /etc/pacman.conf
thanks

Re: problem with repos?

try another mirror (looks like the mirror is out of date anyways)

Re: problem with repos?

don't you need the Include = under each server?

Re: problem with repos?

That pacman.d/mirrorlist looks very wrong.  It should contain a list of repos, with '$repo' in, which is then replaced with extra, commmunity etc.  Here is the default mirrorlist (with the your chosen server moved to the top), I suggest you try it instead:

Re: problem with repos?

thanks for the replies.
I can't get back to this for a few days but I will then use different mirrors as suggested.
thanks again

Re: problem with repos?

The chemnitz-mroor seems to have some problems. See http://forum.archlinux.de/?page=Posting … hread=7727
