Hey all,
I've been using archlinux on one of my desktops without troubles, but I got me a new one, with all kinds of spiffy new hardware and I'm running into trouble when trying to install.
Specs:
Athlon 3200+
Nforce2 chipset
Promise FastTrak S-ATA Raid controller
Maxtor S-ATA HD
I did a quick search on the forum already and I've seen that it's been adviced to choose arch-scsi during install. The odd thing is, if I choose that option my install hangs right after the initial startup of the install right after detecting my CD drives/normal IDE. When I choose the normal 'arch' for install I don't have a problem, but the installer won't find my HD.
Does anyone has a solution for this problem?
Cheers
PS: forgot to add... MD5sums for the ISO are correct.

Boot with another dist and check how it does find the hardware, write it down and install arch with those parameters

Uhm is there a list of available boot parameters somewhere?

nforce2 chipset is actually one of the best supported chipsets under linux.
you should not have any problems with it, except maybe booting to the archlinux install cd.
Is there a way to boot up to a different cd (like gentoo) and then run archsetup from the arch cd?
