Radeon driver resolution lower in Openbox than GNOME or VESA driver

I have a PCI ATI Radeon 9250.

Using the open source Radeon drivers in GNOME, I can get a 1280x1024 resolution easily by using the screen-resolution application. In OpenBox, I cannot. However, if I simply change to the vesa driver, and change nothing else, I get a 1280x1024 resolution.

are you sure the defaultdepth is 16? usually it's 24, if I'm not mistaken. change that and add 1280x1024.

Re: Radeon driver resolution lower in Openbox than GNOME or VESA driver

When running with KDE, I get this:

Also to be noted, is that I'm only allowed a 60 mhz refreash rate compared to all the other resolutions having 60 and 75.

EDIT: If you can't really tell, the lower portion of the screen is all messed up. A little more than just the upper half is perfectly fine though.
