load kernel manually with inst disc

is it possible to load kernel manually with the  installatin disc?

i have lets say /dev/sda8 partition that is the / directory
there is a /boot/vmlinuz26 kernel
how can i load it

my grub doesnt work

Have you tried this? (not 100% on this but you get hints at the bootprompt of the cd)

boot: arch root=/dev/sda8

Or would this just boot your root with the kernel from the cd? If then you need a floppy or cd with GRUB and then you manually edit the menu in boot-time. afaik this is not possible with installer cd.

you can do this with the kexec feature on installation iso.
