Gnome esd not autostarting SOLVED

I have esd in my daemons in rc.conf and also in sessions to autostart but on every reboot it will not play system sounds and although it is loaded i have to re-enable it again to hear sound events in the sounds panel in Gnome
even though I can hear them there they don't play in normal use.
Could it be a bug?
It's certainly bugging me:/
Please can anyone help this noob to fix it?
Cheers:)

Re: Gnome esd not autostarting SOLVED

After googling  for days I solved the ESD problem by adding this line to /etc/rc.local:

su -c '/etc/rc.d/esd start' - your username

As I said, I had esd in my daemons bu had to restart it after every boot.
Even then it didn't work so I hope this will help anyone else with the same problem.
It works fine now and thanks for the couple of replies I got to my 3 posts on the subject.
