Pypanel woes.

I have been setting up pypanel today and all worked fine. But now when i try to start up pypanal it says unable to open .pypanelrc or words to that affect. As you can see from below I have the appropriate permissions and the file exists. Any suggestions?

Re: Pypanel woes.

Did you copy this .pypanelrc from someone else?  try using the default config file (find it with "locate pypanelrc" and copy it to your home dir as .pypanelrc) and customize it manually.  It's not really that difficult or time consuming -- and you can use the version you posted as a guide.

Re: Pypanel woes.

Does .pypanelrc have read premissions?

Re: Pypanel woes.

Every file have read/write/execute persmissions.
Perhaps the file contains nonvalid syntax and therefore fails. As mentioned before, try to copy the example file and se if that works.

Re: Pypanel woes.

[r4ndom@bohinj ~]$ ls -l ~/.pypanelrc
-rw-r--r-- 1 r4ndom r4ndom 12406 2008-01-21 16:23 /home/r4ndom/.pypanelrc

This is after restoring the default from : /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/pypanel/pypanelrc

Re: Pypanel woes.

Tried coping the default file over yet?

sudo rm /home/r4ndom/.pypanelrc
sudo cp /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/pypanel/pypanelrc .pypanelrc

If you have customised it a whole lot, then you might want to save the old one though. You may be able to save something.
