Hi,
It is very common to see off-topic posts in forums as discussions usually engender new questions, shared experiences, etc... Anyway, could we imagine an OT tag that would, for example, color text or frame it or whatever, in order to make it easy to sort what's OT and what's not ?

how would you implement it? it's certainly an interesting idea, but who'd decide what's ot and what's not? each individual user (whoaahhh where are we gonna keep all that data?), some sort of peer moderation (and why would anyone bother clicking?), or forum moderators (there are like..2...meh)?
Flesh out your idea a bit and see where it goes.
The suggestion box only accepts patches.

I think the poster should be the one to chose to use that tag (like the B | I | U | http:// | Img | Code | Quote we have at the moment).
[OT]that's the first time I notice we can't see avatars when replying to a topic[/OT]

maybe you could ID it too. [OT=avatar]what an odd avatar you have[/OT]
And when the thread is over have all OT's with the same tag be automoved to a new thread with the tag name as the title.

[OT=avatar]
[OT=avatar]what an odd avatar you have[/OT]
That's my japanese pacman under steroids[/OT]
If you want to go extra features right now, options to show/hide [OT][/OT] could be nice too (like the spoilers tag on some movies forums with show or hide as default in your profile)

Ja, nice idea. Maybe just color it, or put in italic would be fine.
[ot]A [badenglish] tag would be nice for me...[/ot]
