Compiz Fusion Completely Broken?? [SOLVED]

I configured my xorg with (I have an NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT):

nvidia-xconfig --composite --add-argb-glx-visuals --no-logo

And installed Compiz Fusion (from the community repo) with:

pacman -Sy compiz-fusion-kde

But when I open fusion-icon as the KDE user (karam), I receive:

[karam@vladimir ~]$ fusion-icon
 * Detected Session: kde
 * Searching for installed applications...
 * NVIDIA on Xorg detected, exporting: __GL_YIELD=NOTHING
 * Using the GTK Interface
 * KWin is already running
 * Setting window manager to Compiz
 ... executing: compiz --replace --sm-disable --ignore-desktop-hints ccp
compiz (core) - Error: Another window manager is already running on screen: 0
compiz (core) - Fatal: No manageable screens found on display :0.0

Any ideas anyone? Here is my /etc/X11/XF86Config:

# nvidia-xconfig: X configuration file generated by nvidia-xconfig
# nvidia-xconfig:  version 1.0  (buildmeister@builder26)  Wed Sep 12 14:29:17 PDT 2007

Re: Compiz Fusion Completely Broken?? [SOLVED]

I don't know much about compiz fusion but... is it possible that the support for compiz fusion with KDE 4.0 is still kind of buggy?  Do you have KDE 4.0?
Either that or... are you supposed to open the program while kde is NOT running and then it starts kde for you?  Worth a shot.  I wonder, because it says "Error: Another window manager is already running on screen: 0"  Maybe it has to initialize KDE for you?
But I'm not really sure.  Maybe someone else can give a better answer.

Re: Compiz Fusion Completely Broken?? [SOLVED]

I am running KDE 3.5 but with the new qt package. I'll give the other startup options a shot. good thinking; thanks.

Re: Compiz Fusion Completely Broken?? [SOLVED]

Heh; I removed the symlink I had used to start Compiz Fusion automatically and instead used a script to start it in place of KWIN and now it works fine. Thanks for your suggestion!
