also, here's a dumb question about tiling window managers like dwm and awesome...
what happens when you open a rarely opened program? where does it go?

urxvt with transparency enabled.  simple green/black grid background.  the panel is pypanel (disabled showing tasks), and dzen2 is the program that shows the volume, dl/ul speed, and music.

Tired of experiments... back to the comfort of Openbox.  Featuring Arch Linux fanboy wallpaper big_smile

Conky
Stalonetray (integrates really nicely with Openbox)
No panel
Functional minimalism

Not pictured here but ToggleFullScreen action FTW!

<keybind key="A-F12">
      <action name="ToggleFullscreen"/>
</keybind>

Makes tiling WM obsolete in my case since all I ever use it for is fullscreening applications anyways.

Yes, it is irssi. The theme is skeita and the topic in the title is done via the title.pl script.
There is nothing fancy about my irssi config file so I won't bother posting it tongue

The openbox theme is called Carbon.

Re: February 2008 Screenshots

It's probably a stupid question but how did you add the date to the fluxbox toolbar ?

Right-Click on the slit -> Edit Clock format. You can use %d for that day, %m for the month, etc...
For example, I used '%d.%m.%y | %k:%M' in the screenshot.

when you switch between workspaces for example and have windows open on them. when i use xcompmgr, the windows look bad when they are drawn on the screen

I'm experiencing this as well. Generally everything that involves window loading, workspace switching is tangibly slower when xcompmgr is running.

Re: February 2008 Screenshots

Same here, I never was able to get rid of the major tearing problem with xcompmgr (especially for videos).
I tried some vsync settings with the nvidia driver, nothing worked perfectly.
