hey there.. trying to get my microphon working, i have a sony vaio, and i think its some sigmatel grap.. my amixer output:

when i launch alsa mixer i can only adjust master and pcm.. but amixer seems like my mic is kinda recognized? HELP

For alsamixer, did you press the 'm' key when over the microphone option to unmute it to see if it makes noise? You'd still be changing to volume without this 'm' option, but with it, it amplifies your voice so you can easily tell if it's working (for tests). That's how I tested mine when I was having problems with it.
Does the microphone option show UP in alsamixer but just have like no volume bar or something?

in alsamixer i have the "Mic Jack" kategory but i have no bar to turn it louder or quieter.. maybe there is some missing module or stuff? or just some driver problem with alsa? i find some things on the internet but nothing from the seemed to work for me, the mic worked without problems on ubuntu.. thanks for your help! :)

uhm no one anyidea? i found out that i have a volume bar over "capture" but i cant mute/unmute it.. anyone any idea?

In alsamixer, press F4 to display the capture devices, then move to the apropiate and press Space so select it.
It it don't work, try some graphical app (like kmix) that will probably more intuitive.
