An automated way to fix the mp3 collection?

Hey,

I got a big mp3 collection, some of it is files with wrong / badly formed ID3 tags and filenames.

Does anyone know of an automated (script / whatever) way to go through the collection, and somehow fix
those bad filenames / id3 tags? Obviously, some sort of an internet based database would have to be used for
the actual songs information.

Thanks
Fiod

not sure if this is do it all for you but it is a really nice mp3 tag editor:
http://easytag.sourceforge.net/

It can do whole directories and has lot of options

I've never used it but it sounds like your after Pinky-Tagger that can generates PUID and/or TRM fingerprints to help get the song info.
