I have a similar problem but it doesn't happen always -- only after I've restarted X a few times, and perhaps it's also affected by suspending. It only started to happen recently and it seems to be distro independent (happens for me on two different computers and two different distros) so I think it's some kind of an upstream bug -- I haven't been able to find any info about it though.

This is happening to me too. I believe it started with the recent update of the Intel driver, although I have no way to prove it.
