I got an Olympus Voice Recorder (model VN-3100PC) the other day, to use to record lectures in one of my classes. How do I get Linux to download audio off of it?

On what does it store data ? What is the format of the recorded files ? What ports does it use to connect to your machine ? Give some info if you expect some answers...

It connects to the computer with a USB cable, and it the file format is wav.

Is it this one ? http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_secti … =1272&fl=4
128MB flash for wav ?
It's mentioned:
Recording Format CELP+ADPCM
I'm not trying to be harsh or anything but you know, at least help us to properly understand the situation... anyway, can you mount it at least ?

Yes, I can, if I can figure out what the device is listed as in my system.
EDIT: I know it's using USB address 3. And it shows up on lsusb.

seems that you'll need this (Speex is based on CELP and is designed to compress voice at bitrates ranging from 2 to 44 kbps.) to play your files.
