I sent an inquiry about my wireless setup and I see it ended up in the announcement section. Not sure how vigilant the moderators are on this site, but perhaps it belongs as a newbie question or a networking question. If I was in the wrong place, please either redirect me - or if you are willing, answer my inquiry and move it as needed. If you need me to do so, I can repost it here.

That's because the new netcfg2-script is still in the testing-fase, albeit very stable. Netcfg2 has been announced for a few weeks, and people have been reporting successes and failures in the announcement-thread.

Thanks, I appreciate that, it helps me see why there are different options and why it was initially not too clear what to do. I read your response in the other thread and I greatly appreciate it. Your explanation makes it clear why this was not more clearly and concisely defined - after all, it remains somewhat of a work in progress - though the documentation may be one of the main areas still needing work.
By the way, the overall documentation on the site is terrific, and in fact, after half of a sleepless night I actually was able to come up with an interim solution that works for me. Now that I am gaining a better understanding of how the startup processes flow, it is all uphill from here for me. I have one working solution. I may fool around with it some more later to further cement what I learned over night. Thanks so much for furthering my Arch education. (I am a veteran with Linux distros, but I've been using mostly the kind that set a lot up for you, so it took some familiarization, reading, testing, and understanding before I "got it", but I didn't do too badly - got it in one night of work! ;-))
