How to stop gconfd

I do have gnome installed, but I do not use it since I was turned on
to fluxbox. Thanks Archers!

The only uncommented line in my .xinitrc file is exec fluxbox.
Near as I can tell, gconfd starts-up when I launch mozilla. How to
keep it [gconfd ] quite?

Re: How to stop gconfd

Just a question , are you using mozilla, firefox or thunderbird?
If yes that is the reason you have gconfd running.
I read somewere that mozilla is going to be more integrated in gnome, it should replace nautilus.
At least on my system gconf-d start each time I start mozilla-* and stop after a while I closed mozilla-*

Just try to verify that on your system.

Re: How to stop gconfd

Thanks-

I poked around with gconf-editor, but nothing seems to work. I guess
It really doesn't matter much since I can just Kill it.

Although it makes me wounder what will happen when I get rid of gnome. Maybe that is a bad idea. :?
