Password Trouble.

I've recently installed the recent version of Arch Linux(2.6.22),
And when i try to log in, it won't accept the password that was set.
I had a friend that has used Arch Linux for a while now walk me through the setup,
So I'm sure everything is configured properly,
But what can i do in attempt to resolve this password issue?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

did you setup root password by the end of installation ?
if so and you forgot then search this wiki for "root password recovery" - hint: use installation cd

It was a few things that i had done wrong, but the main one not using the proper context when trying to login to my machine, got my user created and password set, everything is working fine now.
