Printer sharing. Print jobs are sent and appear on xp, but don't print

Hi,
I am wanting to print to the printer, canon ip4300, attached to my xp box. I have set it up via cups web interface and documents appear to be being sent - they show up on my xp printer jobs list, however they do not print, and I have noticed that the number of pages xp shows the print jobs as having is 'N/A'. Any ideas as to what is going wrong? The datatype of the printed pages is 'RAW' (if that is relevant).
(Am using canon's proprietary driver, installed via rpmextract and sticking things in what I hope are the right places)
