Cannot upload picture :(

Its a strange problem I am facing. Its seems that I am unable to upload pictures to certain hosting sites. I am using Arch in my desktop and everytime i try to upload a picture to deviantart or imageshack or photobucket, it fails showing connection error(for deviant) and the rest just keeps on trying

however i can upload on my orkut album. so what is the problem? its so weird

one more thing is that I have no problem downloading stuffs, like source codes or torrents, just this photo upload problem.

any help guys? or atleast a picture upload site that works?

Not nearly enough info here. Are you uploading with a web browser? If so, which one? You may want to try it with another just in case. Do you have proper permissions to the files? Have you tried looking at the terminal output?

From the sound of things, it seems to me like it's probably a problem with the sites and/or browser compatibility.

well i am uploading to simple image hosting sites. like webshots, deviantart, xs.to, imageshack, etc.
i just wanted to post some screenshots, and found that i cannot upload! yes i have all the permissions and its in my home directory too.

the browser i am using is opera and swiftfox. as for problem with  sites, well maybe but it seems strange that i have been able to upload them to my orkut album but not to deviantart, webshots, flickr,photo bucket, imageshack,.............. thats a long list!!!

also i am connecting through my router on ethernet port (if it matters).

I don't really have a solution for you, sorry. My point was that you can't just state your problem and not give any information for us to go off of. Sorry if it came off negatively, hopefully someone can come along with a better idea than me.

I don't use any of the sites in question (or at least I haven't since I was still using Windows). It does sound like a very odd problem to me. It shouldn't be your browsers' faults, but something like this also shouldn't be happening on so many different sites. It could be your router or some other filter blocking you, but I rather doubt it.

try downloading an image from image shack then upload it to image shack to check that it isnt a problem with your images
Can you upload other files?

no guys, i tried a lot of things like separate browsers, opera, mozilla, swiftfox, and also several websites but i just cannot upload any file !!

do i need to change any configuration in my system?
