Running dolphin in non KDE enviroment, or some other file-manager?

I've been looking for a file-manager  that works like thunar but with dual-pane. When I plug in a device (like an usb-stick) it is displayed in thunars sidepanel and can be mounted easy. Also it displays icons compared to the more compact view of other two-pane file-managers. If you have any suggestions I will be grateful.

Back to the core problem smile
Dolphin looks great and behaves much the way I want. But how do you set the default setting. For example you can edit the shortcuts but not the apps it should run (like terminal), and you can change the path to the trash bin but not edit the delete command.

Re: Running dolphin in non KDE enviroment, or some other file-manager?

Hello!

This worked with me:
KControl -> KDE-Components -> File associations -> inode -> directory -> Add -> Write Dolphin to row -> OK -> Edit -> Third interleaf -> Make sure that command is dolphin %u.
That's it!

I put a picture to help you. My english isn't as good as possible ;-)

Click!

EDIT: Oh, sorry. I really unnotified that "non KDE environment" part...
