Here's the pkgbuild I made for using plain compiz 0.7 with the new kde4-window-decorator in kde4 sessions.
No gnome deps here
just remove all the compiz and compiz-fusion stuff from your box and use this
starting compiz with 'compiz-start'.
Somewhat buggy , but it works..;)
tested with kde4 trunk and qt-copy(4.4)

hmm.. may i ask for some how-to for getting qt4.4 plus kde trunk to work on arch? i failed misrably last week...

compiling from scratch is definetively the best way
check out http://kdesvn-build.kde.org/ it's simple enough to use
setting up the right environment is the trick to do things done
remove all your qt and kde packages and set up your box using the right scripts

as examples
I prefer to build everything in /opt to keep the system clean but you can
choose other ways. Kde4 build system is very clean and smart so don't be afraid
