I just did a new install of my system and the first time I installed arch32 no problems this time I have a problem when I try to install anything in the 32 bit environment I get this
error: failed retrieving file 'core.db.tar.gz' from mirror : Transient resolver failureI noticed that I don't have internet inside the arch32 environment. How do I fix this?
Thanks

I'm assuming you internet connection is working.... Try changing the mirror you are using. It looks like that one hasn't finished syncing.

Yes internet is working on my laptop just not in arch32 changing the mirror doesn't help same error.

I had the same problem - try copying over the /etc/resolv.conf from your 64-bit system - that worked for me.

Mark it solved..................................
Does the wiki work with symlink? Or did you not symlink?

Yes, I'm having the same problem too.
I followed the chroot tutorial, but I am getting no network in the arch32 chroot, but fine in 64-bit.
I used the ln command as listed:
ln /etc/resolv.conf .and it gives the error
ln: creating hard link `./resolv.conf': File exists
What's the solution to this?
Thanks

Remove /opt/arch32/etc/resolv.conf first?
I find that wiki article very confusing.. I'd like to try and clean it up sometime!

The wiki's just been updated, it's much more straightforward now.
The one thing which I solved for the resolv conf was to do as suggested before, to copy the 64-bit /etc/resolv.conf to /opt/arch32/etc/resolv.conf
i.e.
cp -v /etc/resolv.conf /opt/arch32/etc/resolv.confLast edited by JAwuku (2008-02-26 17:50:54)
