Hello all.
I just installed awesome wm and everything seems to be fine except that it does not read my config file.:( I use the example config from the awesome wiki with border width changed to 2, but in reallity, border width always appears to be 1. Have anybody ever ran into this?

Stupid question, but did you name the file correctly (.awesomerc) and put it in ~/?

What version of awesome do you have ?
If it's > 2.1 the awesomerc example in the wiki is out dated. The wiki is not very up to date.
You should look at this one http://ca.hnvc.net/awesome-git/.awesomerc.
( If you want to check if your config file is ok, you can run awesome -k ~/.awesomerc)

When I run awesomerc -, ~/.awesomerc, I just get the following:
Usage: awesome [-v | -h | -c configfile]
Perhaps that's out of date too? (I have awesome 2.1 "Morning Bell")
At any rate, awesome skips your config file and loads its default if there are mistakes So if it looks wrong (perhaps more obvious on my system due to font issues), then there's probably a typo or a command changed.

awesome -k is a feature in 2.2
For the awesomerc file, like i said, the one in the wiki doesn't work with the awesome 2.1

Solved. Yes, Celos, the example config in the wiki seems have some flaws. I write my own from scratch this time.
