Extra items in KDE Applications menu

(I have posted this on the KDEmod forums as well, but in case this is a more generic problem, I thought I'd ask here as well.)

My KDE menu has some extra items at the top which are not removable (as far as I can see) from the menu editor program. Any idea why they're there and what I can do to get rid of them?

Re: Extra items in KDE Applications menu

I was JUST about to make a post on this. I'm having the same problem, but I think I know what caused mine. I recently tried using the kickoff menu (and quickly removed it, too cumbersome for me), but it seems to put applications that I recently used up at the top, sort of like the history function in the kickoff menu. I haven't found a way around it yet, but I'd like to.

Yes right click a panel, configure panels => Menus => Quickstart Menu change to 0

Re: Extra items in KDE Applications menu

Thanks, FeatherMonkey. That did it.

Interestingly enough, heleos, I did exactly the same thing recently. Small world!

Seems there's a few of us that aren't keen on this kickoff menu get the impression in kde4 this may not be a choice hope not.
