embedded processor support

i have a versalogic python board here running an amd geode gx3 processor running at 700mhz. The only information that i can find on this processor is that its 100% x86 compatible. Has anyone tried running arch on a geode processor or does anyone know if its is classified as i586 or i686? I guess the only real way to do this is to try and im downloading the iso right now so i guess if i dont hear anything back ill post if it worked or not.

Re: embedded processor support

well i have good news to report the amd geode processors seem to be i686 based processors. arch seems to be running just fine off a 4 gig compact flash card. Just incase someone else is going to try this there are a few things to watch out for.

1. legacy ide support is a must
2. seems that acpi must be disabled
3. disable irq 5 seems udev locks up when that is enabled

other than that it works great and for anyone looking at an os for an embedded solution arch is the way to go

Re: embedded processor support

Sounds interesting, mind sharing what you're up to with the embedded system?
